(June 17, 1:30 p.m.) is going to be one for the books! We’re celebrating the 114th birthday of none other than the world’s most legendary female athlete—Babe Didrikson Zaharias.
To honor her legacy, the Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum and its Board of Directors are kicking off three days of festivities!

Here’s what’s happening:

  • Thursday, June 26: On Babe’s actual birthday, the Beaumont City Council will officially endorse a day in her honor.

  • Friday, June 27: The City of Beaumont is hosting a special screening of a feature-length movie about Babe’s incredible life at the Jefferson Theatre. Plus, we’ll be recognizing Lamar University’s current women’s athletic teams and celebrating the many women who have graduated thanks to scholarships from the local Babe Didrikson Zaharias Foundation.
  • Saturday, June 28: Don’t miss the unveiling of the Freedom Foundation’s Medal of Honor at the Babe Zaharias Museum—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
